OUR MISSION
Since Shreveport Figure Skating became an official program in 2017, our mission has been to spread the love of figure skating to individuals of all ages, levels and walks of life. Whether you want to be a recreational or competitive skater, Shreveport Figure Skating is dedicated to offering the best experience to all of our clients.
Instructors
Coach Chanelle
Chanelle Smith brings over three decades of passion and dedication to the ice, with 37 years of figure skating experience and 15 years as a trusted coach. She holds Junior Silver Free-Skate, Gold Dance, and Gold Skating Skills test levels, and is a proud Skate Canada NCCP Provincial Coach and U.S. Figure Skating Learn to Skate Instructor . A seasoned competitor herself, Chanelle understands the discipline, artistry, and joy that skating can bring at every stage of a skater’s journey.
Coach Tabitha
Tabitha has been part of the Shreveport Figure Skating Program for 8 years and has been coaching for 5. She loves encouraging skaters to push their limits and reach their goals, sharing her passion for the sport with every lesson. When she’s not on the ice, she stays busy homesteading, gardening, and caring for her mini-farm, which includes goats, chickens, dogs, cats, and birds. She also channels her creativity into 3 Crafty Hens, a handmade crafts business she recently launched with friends.
Coach Jackie
Jackie has been part of our program for 9 years and coaching for 4. She loves teaching new skills while fostering teamwork and instilling the grit needed to overcome challenges. Off the ice, Jackie is an Air Force veteran and currently leading Air Force Global Strike Command's Rapid Capability Division at Barksdale Air Force Base. Fluent in Chinese-Mandarin and American Sign Language, she’s a true connector and leader both in skating and in her career.
Coach Krista
Krista has been skating since she was 2 years old and has been part of the George’s Pond community since 2014. She loves sharing her passion with skaters of all ages and is dedicated to helping them grow. When she’s not on the ice, she thrives in her career with Century 21 Elite. With a performing arts degree in music, she’s an artist both on and off the rink!
